The differences between synchronous control system and asynchronous control system

LED Display Control System is also known as LED display controller and LED display control card. As one of the core components of the LED screen, it is mainly responsible for receiving pictures, videos and some digital information from the computer serial port or DVI interface. Generally, there are two kinds of main control system: synchronous control system and asynchronous control system.

Synchronous control system means that the LED display is completely synchronized with the contents on the computer monitor. That means if the computer is turned off, the LED screen will not be displayed. This kind of system is mainly used in places where the real-time requirements are relatively high, such as stage, TV station, exhibition, conference, etc.

Asynchronous control system means that the contents of the LED display and the computer monitor are not synchronized. After editing on the computer, the digital information will be sent to the control card, and then the contents of control card will be displayed on the screen. It can play information without computer control Therefore, even if the computer is turned off, the LED screen still can be displayed, which is suitable for some places where real-time performance is not critical, like advertising screen or window display.

Someone may have the question: what are the advantages and disadvantages of these two control systems? The following will be a simple analysis.

Synchronous control system can play in real time, and the amount of digital information is not limited, but the play time will be limited. Besides, the synchronous system signals are transmitted by network cable, thus there is a distance limit.

Asynchronous control system can transmit signals through USB, network cable, WIFI, 4G, etc, so the distance limit is small. However, asynchronous system can’t achieve play synchronously, and the amount of digital information is limited because of certain storage range of the control card.

In conclusion, it depends on your requirements whether to choose synchronous control system or asynchronous ones.
